Position Title: .ASP NET Developer

Reports to:  Director of Information Technology

Status:  Full-time, Exempt

Date: September 20th, 2018

Primary Function: 

ASBMB is a 12,000 member non-profit organization serving the scientific research community. We are seeking an ASP.NET developer with at least 1 to 2 years of web development experience to join our dynamic IT department.  The developer will become part of a small team maintaining the systems and technology supporting the society, working closely with senior IT staff in the maintenance, design, development, testing, and deployment of related website applications including web‐based content management systems, online registration, and ecommerce. 

Primary Duties:

The ASP.NET developer will be responsible for module development within our current CMS and integration with third-party software products such as our membership management software. On occasion the developer, supported by IT leadership, will be asked to work with staff members outside of the IT department to gather requirements, answer questions, assist with system configuration or troubleshoot problems.

Positions may be reassigned and responsibilities may be modified or changed at any time to fulfill organizational requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field
  • 1+ years of experience developing web applications using ASP.NET Web Forms in C#
  • 1+ years of database design and development experience using SQL Server
  • 1+ years of experience building web pages in HTML / CSS
  • 1+ years of experience in client side JavaScript development, including using JQuery and other popular JavaScript libraries
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
  • Fast learner and self-motivated
  • Detail oriented, well‐organized, and ability to multi‐task
  • Ability to grasp data and business issues
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using the following is a plus:
  • Kentico CMS
  • iMIS AMS
  • Web API
  • Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX
  • PayPal APIs
  • Workflow Engine and Rapid Application Development platforms
