• Entrance on duty is contingent upon completion of a pre-employment security investigation. Public Trust – Background Investigation
This position requires a Ph.D (within the last 4 years) in plant pathology, molecular biology, bacteriology or a closely related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Experience with site-directed mutagenesis and functional complementation, functional analysis of bacterial genes and regulation of gene expression, as well as methods in molecular biology and plant pathology including matagenesis, RNA extraction, reverse transcription PCR and virulence assays is highly desirable.
Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
