Digital & Social Media Specialist

Do you have a BA/BS degree along with at least three years of social media experience, preferably with a membership association or a nonprofit organization?  Our client, a high-end Membership Association in downtown Washington, DC is looking for a Temp-to-Hire Digital & Social Media Specialist.  This position is responsible for the coordination of the organization’s digital platforms including website, social media, intranet and digital magazine. This person will assist with developing and implementing successful digital content that creates brand awareness, increases site traffic and drives value with potential and existing members. The position will also work to ensure all of the organization’s digital and social platforms are adhering to brand standards and advancing their online presence and search ranking.

Duties will include posting and updating content on their website, including placement of copy, graphics, photo galleries, slideshows, audio, and video. Other duties will include developing their monthly social media calendar to advance engagement and traffic to website and social platforms; developing and maintaining stock art and the digital image library for the website and social media accounts and examining trends to bring creative and innovative ideas to enhance the website, social media and intranet to better serve members and staff and raise the organization’s visibility.

Must have a BA/BS degree in communications, marketing, web design or related field along with minimum of three years' work experience, preferably with a membership association or a nonprofit organization.  Will also need demonstrated experience with graphics, e-commerce, blogs, social media and interactive communication platforms, along with the ability to proofread with a strong emphasis on grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
