Engility Corporation is seeking a Director, Programs to support NASA science mission/systems program operations and growth within the Civil Space and Mission Systems Division (CSMD) of the Space and Mission Systems Group (SMSG). The qualified individual will be a direct report to the Vice President of CSMD Division and will have responsibilities that span program operations and business development including support to the development and implementation of Engility's NASA science mission/systems business strategic plan. Strong Technical Competency: This position requires strong technical understanding of NASA's science strategy including the programs, projects, missions, objectives, and challenges of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and related organizations including NASA Headquarters Science Mission Directorate. Proven Program/Project Management Performance: This position requires significant experience with program/project management and technical services delivery and proven high-performance in the NASA science mission and space systems technical domain. Extensive Network of Positive Relationships: This position requires a substantial network of contacts and relationships at multiple levels of GSFC and NASA Headquarters including NASA Administrator senior staff level, GSFC Center Director staff level, and Center directorate's and project/mission execution organization management. The ideal candidate possesses the above attributes and is a friendly face to GSFC and/or NASA Headquarters and is respected and trusted. Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Frequent interaction with CSMD Division operations and growth personnel on NASA GSFC growth strategy, business opportunities, and customer/industry meetings Leveraging of GSFC and/or NASA Headquarters relationships towards identifying business growth opportunities and to enhance Engility brand recognition and customer presence Serve as a technical thought leader for the science mission/systems domain including support to the development of white papers and attendance/participation at pertinent conferences and symposiums Collaborate with other SMSG Divisions to understand Engility capabilities and experience that is applicable to the NASA science mission domain Support oversight and management of current Engility NASA science mission programs to enhance technical performance and customer satisfaction Support NASA GSFC and Headquarters related captures and proposals as a reviewer and content contributor Travel 25% to 35% for customer and industry visits and to other Engility offices Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering). 20+ years of experience supporting the NASA science mission / space systems domain preferably as a Government employee at GSFC and/or NASA Headquarters Experience with program/project management of science mission-related efforts Extensive business acumen and ability to conduct customer assessments to support business growth strategy development Excellent business development capabilities and willingness to "roll up the sleeves" to drive business growth and performance in an entrepreneurial style business environment Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to transact at both strategic and tactical levels Demonstrated communication/presentation, analytical and problem solving skills at executive levels in industry and/or government Ability to obtain a clearance
