Systems Integration Consultant IV
Overview We are looking to fill a critical role for a Integration Engineer in our Sterling, VA office. In this role the Integration Engineer will be Responsible for designing, developing and implementing integration plans and implementation procedures for hardware, software and facilities. Responsible for the physical and electrical compatibility of functional interfaces and first article product integration, ensuring seamless interface between the design and production of systems and responsible for product design and integration of OEM or COTS based systems, including installation and transition plans. Will also provide deployment, installation, training and support on Consular computer systems, hardware and software. Provides systems maintenance support including troubleshooting, problem analyses and assessments for hardware and software systems and assigned projects. Make recommendations regarding methods and approaches for using new hardware and software. Assure proper, clear, concise and complete technical guidance for use by customers, technical installers and trainers. The individual will be expected to support software development activities, provide ad hoc system administration support, support hardware and software installations, and support other miscellaneous tasks ranging from documentation support to hands-on technical support. The candidate will work independently and within small teams to support various software and systems related tasks as described below: Responsibilities Software Development Support: Provide support to the software development Lifecycle through requirements gathering/documentation, software design, software testing and end-user documentation including online or hardcopy documentation. Perform software testing as necessary, and document testing results in the software testing plans. Workstation Hardware/Software Installation Support: Test new and existing hardware in lab environment, including QA testing and configuration. Server Hardware/Software Installation Support: The integration engineer will maintain lab server environment and infrastructure. Emphasis will be focused on using Windows Server 2003/2008, VMWare and Storage Area Networks (SAN). Ensure developed products (ie images, tools and guides) are replicated to the imaging/staging environment. Other Functions/Characteristics: Efforts such as preparing and/or reviewing systems documentation (g., installation manuals, training manuals, etc.). Maintenance of team Intranet resources (eg Driver Resource Database, Hardware Ordering Site, Team SharePoint site, etc.). The candidate must use professional oral and/or written communication skills with customers, vendors and coworkers at all times. The candidate must exhibit good judgment in interfacing with all government and contract personnel, providing proper examples of work performance, and adherence to professional standards and operational and security guidelines as defined by the Government and Harris Information Technology Services Qualifications MCSE certification or equivalent related technical certifications Knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare, Hyper-V and/or Citrix) Knowledge of NetApp Storage Appliances Knowledge of Windows Deployment Services (ie MDT, Windows PE, etc.) Knowledge of Dell BladeSolutions Familiarity with the Software and Systems Development life Cycle (SDLC) Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio Knowledge of remote deployment tools and VB scripting a plus Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) technology Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Department of State experience desired Active Secret Clearance is REQUIRED About Peraton Peraton provides innovative, reliable solutions to the nation's most sensitive and mission-critical programs and systems.
