Overview Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide operational support for mission critical systems. The position is located in Welcome, MD. Responsibilities Supports a 24x7 operations center working 12 hour shifts, (day/night). Provide UNIX/LINUX/WINDOWS System Administration support (peripheral/user/application OS Administration) to operational systems. Interacts with Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to restore service and/or identify and correct system problems. Performs system back-ups, restores systems from back-ups. Contributes towards the Disaster Recovery Plan (RP), back-up systems and disk configurations. Be able to generate moderately complex scripts using Shell and/or PERL tools. Monitors network and system activity and troubleshoots outages. Executes procedures in a sequential order to maintain system operations. Interacts with customers with help desk support and with writing service tickets and briefing materials. Qualifications REQUIRED: Requires a BS degree or the equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience, or 8 years of related work experience with no degree. Minimum of 1 year experience working with TCP/IP networking principles. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with UNIX/LINUX. Minimum of 1 year experience working with Windows Server Administration. PREFERRED: Proficient in MS Office (2 years experience creating technical documents). Working experience with test based editors (VI, GEDIT, Notepad, etc.). Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) DoD 8570 Compliance, CompTIA Security+ CE certification. Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current TS/SCI security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
