O verall Objective The Account Director strives to plan and execute all advertising, marketing and business efforts for the Nissan account and with the SVP, Group Operations Director in the management of all creative pre-production and post-production activities for Product and Opportunity spots. This role is the liaison with Nissan National Marketing and Regional Marketing/Advertising management for Product and Opportunity work. This role also works closely with all Agency departments to monitor that goals for Nissan are met. This role supports and helps develop Client's marketing and advertising strategies. Helps subordinates grow, assuring a vibrant, cohesive team. Assists Agency management with development and establishment of operational policies and procedures. Manages and executes all Client projects and requests according to established Agency SOW and policies. Responsibilities Client Relations Maintains contact with senior level National and Regional Marketing/Advertising Client(s) responsible for development of advertising programs. Anticipates Client needs, keeping the agency in the position of leading rather than following. Leads the HQ General Market Account Services Team's efforts in the development of any ground-up creative as needed by NNA National clients for Product and Opportunity. Oversees Fiscal Year Production Needs and timelines based on model changes, introductions or sell down efforts. Outlines all project details and maintains timelines for all projects. Monitors quality and cost efficiency of Agency creative. Prepares materials and decks for all client presentations. Presents materials to clients as needed. Ensures compliance with Agency/Client Scope of Work document. Marketing / Special Projects Initiates and guides development of annual strategic marketing communications/advertising plan. Creates atmosphere that demands a business-building approach to Client's business. Utilizes Agency resources to develop plans to grow business. Partner Agencies Creates and maintains relationships with Nissan United to share information, obtain approvals as needed, etc. Work with OMD on big media moment opportunities and ensure creative is aligned with Tier 2 messaging. Work with Chiat/Zocalo on social integration for any 360 activation opportunities. Account Stewardship Work closely with all Agency departments to monitor that goals for Nissan are met. Work directly with all Field Account Directors on creative and communication strategies. Creates clear communication amongst General Market, Hispanic Market and Digital teams for all product and opportunity initiatives. Responsible for coordination of Hispanic advertising campaigns. Maintains timelines for all projects. Communicates with field team on all regional needs. Communicates creative availability and expiration to the field team on a regular basis. Facilitates development of appropriate creative, which achieves vehicle focus message and builds Client's brand equity. Maintains familiarity with all production budgets for the fiscal year. Creative Involvement: Works closely with the Creative Directors in the production of ground-up Agency work. Participates in development and evolution of Creative Strategy and briefs. Attends TV shoots as necessary. Prepares decks for client presentations for all aspects of creative development, including but not limited to concept presentation, shoot prep, casting specs, production specs, spot presentations, etc. Media Works with media teams to ensure that creative and media recommendations are strategically aligned. Facilitates the collaboration of media and creative teams in the development of any new media recommendations and POVs. Competitive Oversees collection and reporting of all pertinent competitive advertising information to Client (creative, media presence, targeted marketing efforts). Other Management Responsibilities Attracts new talent. Constantly alert for prospective employees who have outstanding ability. Helps sell Zimmerman Advertising as the ultimate advertising agency to work for and interviews potential employees to efficiently build the team. Be a role model for staff to emulate - discipline, behavior, commitment, and loyalty. Assists in development and implementation of training programs Agency-wide, as appropriate. Required Skills Requirements Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or relevant, equivalent experience. 6+ years experience as an Account Director or Account Supervisor in a full service agency working with Automotive Clients. Possess a thorough understanding of the overall media environment in addition to the Client(s) industry and business. A strong account management background, including past experience managing client accounts and supervising account teams. Proven leadership abilities and managerial experience as a disciplined team leader. Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Great relationship building qualities. Experience identifying superior business building opportunities. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently. Strong attention to detail. A strong sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done quickly and with high quality. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with people at all levels of an organization.
