Provide telephonic support to the Needs Assessment Center by triaging telephone calls, scheduling appointments and providing resources to callers. The position works with patients, families, providers, clinical and non-clinical staff to coordinate the patient's experience throughout the process of accessing mental healthcare at Shady Grove Medical Center.

Job Description:

• Receives all incoming phone calls and online inquiries from persons and providers requesting acute and outpatient clinical services.
• Maintain an accurate census in the office to advise referral sources of the bed availability across the division.
• Schedule clinical evaluations and document when appointments are kept or missed.
• Accurately maintain call tracking database.
• Maintain a high level of world class customer service/professionalism to a wide range of customers.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, or any closely related field. High school or GED is acceptable.
• At least one year of customer service and telephonic experience
• Stellar customer service skills - and an overwhelming desire to make lives better, one interaction at a time
• Strong ability to communicate information in an effective and empathetic manner
• Ability to use phone and computer systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong listening/comprehension skills

As needed. The Needs Assessment Call Specialist Position operates 24/7.
