Special assistant to the chief operations officer
This position requires work in performance management as well as data and financial analysis for the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. The employee will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Will monitor, produce ad hoc and other reports of performance and financial data for the purpose improving the performance of all customer-facing services by working closely and collaboratively across departments. The work involves collecting performance and fiscal data and information on complex problems or issues, developing technically sophisticated presentations, conducting in-depth research and analyses, and recommending data driven solutions. Employee will assist the COO and divisions in business process improvements using a wide range of analytical tools and methods. The results of their work is intended to ensure agency accountability and transparency of operations for HOC Commissioners, staff and constituents. The nature and purpose of interactions involve understanding current processes and workflows, compiling data and financial information, interpreting performance relative to policy objectives, explaining data submission and other requirements, facilitating meetings and resolving difficult, highly visible problems or issues.
