This position facilitates, develops, executes and monitors activities related to compliance policies and procedures, training and education, investigations and conflicts of interest. Under the supervision of the AVP, the Senior Compliance Analyst confirms adherence to federal and state laws affecting AHC. Additionally, the incumbent collaborates with entity personnel to meet the objectives of the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. The role also provides subject matter expertise to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit & Advisory Services as needed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities including Direct Reports
•\tDemonstrate Adventist HealthCare (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Stewardship) RISES values;
•\tSupervise compliance-related projects
•\tDevelop and/or revise compliance policies and collaborate with AHC management to implement policies at the entity level;
•\tMaintain Organizational Integrity intranet page content, as needed
•\tConduct compliance research related to applicable healthcare laws and regulations, identify gaps, and advise the AVP on necessary training and education;
•\tBecome knowledgeable on specific topics such as Research, Conflict of Interest Standards, Billing & Coding, Physician Relationships, EMTALA, etc.
•\tAssist Chief Privacy Officer with all activities related to HIPAA Privacy compliance;
•\tCollaborate with AVP and department managers in support of governance activities by preparing reports for the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees, Organizational Integrity Committee, Chief Privacy Officer Committee and Local Integrity Committees;
•\tParticipate in AHC committees as assigned;
•\tIdentify and monitor data, trends and regulatory enforcement activity in healthcare to determine deficiencies and/or areas for further investigation;
•\tManage AHC hotline for suspected violations of policies and/or regulatory obligations. Responsible for intake of incidents, assignment to appropriate individual(s) for investigation and follow-up of unresolved issues;
•\tConduct compliance reviews and investigations and recommend corrective action and methods to mitigate recurrence;
•\tDevelop and implement quarterly monitoring activities of selected organizational risks;
•\tIn collaboration with AHC management, operationalize compliance-related recommendations from internal and external reviews and audits;
•\tProvide oversight of screening and exclusion checks for AHC Board members, physicians, employees and vendors in such a manner as to be in compliance with all state and federal regulations;
•\tManage Conflict of Interest process, prepare summary report and recommend mitigation plan as appropriate;
•\tTake continuing professional education as necessary to broaden skills and maintain professional certifications; and
•\tPerform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
•\tBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, healthcare or related field;
•\tJuris Doctor or Master's Degree is preferred;
•\tFive (5) years of work experience in a business or healthcare environment, including compliance, investigations, regulatory, research or related field;
•\tCertified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) is preferred
•\tDemonstrated knowledge of health care compliance concepts and practices;
•\tPC skills including OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Outlook;
•\tExperience in or ability/willingness to learn electronic incident management software;
•\tAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, for all audiences from executive management to departmental staff;
•\tGood interview skills - the ability to build trust with those being interviewed so as to extract sensitive information; and
•\tAbility to exercise independent thought and judgment.
