    This position is designated as High Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.

    If you are selected, you must complete a one year probationary period.

    If you are selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure form within 30 days of your first day of employment and annually thereafter.

    You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.

    We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

    To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as experience in overseeing software technology for the successful integration and management of an Enterprise Physical Access Control system (e-PACS), the evaluation of new applications software technologies for successful e-PACs integration, reliability and adherence to existing architectures and practices and  experience in database administration functions, including updating and maintaining database software.

    Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  

    1. Mastery of a wide range of information technology principles, concepts, methodology, automated security programs and practices in major security specialization. 
    2. Comprehensive knowledge of security policy requirements to function as a technical authority in assignments requiring the application of new techniques to solve complex physical security-related problems.
    3. Ability to coordinate activities, address issues and resolve major conflicts in policy and program objectives. 
    4. Ability to perform key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities in very difficult assignment such as planning for significantly new or far-reaching security program requirements.
    5. Knowledge of security specialties technology related to NIST technical requirements in the application of HSPD-12 physical access control systems and PIV card issuance.
    6. Ability to express complex information technology principles and designs.
    7. Knowledge in the art of leading or participating as a technical expert in inter agency groups for resolving problems to existing security systems and programs requiring innovative solutions.

    Position has portable work and selectee may be authorized to telework after meeting eligibility requirements if approved by the supervisor/manager.
