Experience with online pharmacy adjudication systems required. Will consider new graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not licensed in Virginia due to relocation. Must have Virginia license within 90 days of Sentara start date. Advanced certification in HIV, oncology, infectious disease, or ambulatory care (preferred).

Optima Health Community Care is hiring an Clinical Pharmacist
to join our Pharmacy Care Services team in Norfolk, VA.


This is an office-based position with department hours of operations from 8am-6pm. We require our Clinical Pharmacist to work Monday- Friday 8am-5pm. There is an additional weekend commitment rotation with an average of every 6th weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) and an on-call commitment of about every 7th week.

Department/Position Overview:

While in the role of a Clinical Pharmacist, the ideal candidate will possess:
    Experience with online pharmacy adjudication systemsFundamental understanding of prior authorizationsExceptional verbal and communication skillsSuperior analytical, research and presentation skillsHigh level of competency in determining medical necessityPrevious managed care and/or retail experience (strongly preferred)3-5 years experience is strongly preferredDoctorate of Pharmacy is strongly preferred
