Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study (or equivalent) in psychology.
You must submit a copy of your college transcripts showing coursework completion at the time of your application.
You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess one year of specialized experience as described below.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. Examples of such experience include: assisting in formulating, defining, and conducting research assignments of considerable scope and complexity, addressing problems in human resource management; applying research techniques and measurement theories, principles, and practices in order to meet organizational needs; following established technical standards and guidelines for the conduct of research and development activities; and establishing technical milestones for projects, and keeping upper management informed of general plans and progress.
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. Examples of such experience include: establishing technical standards and guidelines for the conduct of research and development activities; reviewing completed work for fulfillment of objectives, effect of advice, and impact on overall program; developing new approaches, methods, techniques, and hypotheses related to assigned projects; and formulating and guiding the research approach to be used to resolve critical management problems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
