  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee enter-on-duty date or initial assignment date to this position
  • in accordance with DoD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. This certification requirement only applies to employees hired or reassigned into this position on or after March 14, 2016.
  • You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to
    1) apply knowledge in security concepts, principles and practices to survey/inspect leased facilities; 2) apply knowledge in documenting survey findings, prepares formal reports for dissemination to appropriate parties, and conducts follow-up inspections to ensure correction of discrepancies; 3) apply knowledge in monitoring progress on long-range projects, actions, and activities and evaluates outcomes.

    You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to 1) apply knowledge of security operations to analyze data to identify vulnerabilities and threats and test components, systems and plans to ensure compliance with security policies and standards; 2) apply security principles and procedures to determine user needs and requirements of system functions; 3) apply knowledge in managing projects to include scheduling, budgeting, and managing contractors.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
