SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting (payable and receivable) records by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management.

Supervises and participates in preparing and auditing materials requiring analyses of supporting documents and insures that all entries are entered into the system properly.

Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.

Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, clients, and customers.

Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.

Issues written and verbal instructions.

Assigns duties and examines work for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.

Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

Adjusts errors and complaints.

Performs accounts payable and receivable duties as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises four to ten employees in the Accounting Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience                  

 Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills           

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Concert Technologies.

Mathematical Skills  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.               

Reasoning Ability   

Ability to apply sound judgement to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills         

To perform this position successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
