    Applicants applying for the GS-12 grade level must meet the following requirements:

    Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:

    1. Attention to Detail - attention to detail in carrying out difficult and complex assignments and developing new methods, approaches, and procedures for IT projects
    2. Customer Service - skill in customer service to provide advice or instructions to managers and others on the availability, use and capacity of new equipment and software
    3. Oral Communication - mastery of oral communication to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues
    4. Problem Solving -Ability to apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems

     AND

    Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    1. Experience and skill in applying, IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout a bureau.
    2. Experience in ensuring the integration of IT programs and services for noncomplex systems; developing solutions to integration/interoperability issues; designing, developing, and managing systems that meet current and future business requirements and applying and extending, enhancing, or optimizing the existing architecture.
    3. Experience using project management principles, methods, and practices including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments for two or more concurrent projects

    NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

    There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
