    Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Experience conducting market, financial, legal, or economic analyses (e.g. due diligence, risk exposure, detailed credit analysis, market analysis) of issues across a range of financial transactions and activities and relating them to public policy; AND
    • Experience with a range of international financial and investment policy issues; AND
    • Experience conducting analyses of foreign direct investment to identify economic or national security risks; AND
    • Experience communicating results of research and analysis and making policy recommendations to senior decision makers.

    Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Experience conducting market, financial, legal, or economic analyses (e.g. due diligence, risk exposure, detailed credit analysis, market analysis) of financial transactions and activities; AND
    • Experience with international financial and investment policy issues to identify economic or national security risks; AND
    • Experience communicating results of research and analysis to senior decision makers.

    Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Experience conducting financial or economic analyses; AND
    • Experience with a international financial policy issues; AND
    • Experience communicating results of research and analysis to supervisors.

    You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-11 level as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
    - If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
    - Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
    - Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.  Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
    - Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel, if necessary.
    - File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on, if necessary.
    - Undergo an income tax verification, if necessary.
