The hospital-based Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups in the hospital setting, independently and/or under the direction of the attending physician. Health care services include conducting comprehensive health assessments, prescribing/providing treatments/interventions, making referrals, managing acute and stable chronic illnesses, promoting health, and providing disease prevention and management services. The PA/NP is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage in member- of- the- team activities, use resources (human and material) appropriately, and adhere to Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations (as applicable).
Master's Level Degree - NURSE PRACTITIONER
Master's Level Degree- PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Cardiac Surgery; ICU experience preferred
Required: Authorization to Prescribe, Basic Life Support, Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse-OR- Physician Assistant certification
Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Required: Communication, Critical Thinking, Speaking
Preferred: None, unless noted in the “Other” section below
Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant experience preferred.
Opportunity for an experienced PA or NP. Candidates with Cardiac Surgery or ICU experience will be given priority. This position will work 80 hours every 2 weeks. Rotating call schedule (service line is 24/7)
This position does include procedures. Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency and familiarity with:
-Chest tube insertion/removal
-Arterial and venous catheters
