AboutWeb, LLC is currently seeking a Senior Network Security/Firewall Engineer to support our federal project in Arlington, VA.

Position Description:
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, secure remote VPN and network switching, Security Information, and Event management.
  • Provides Network and Security engineering support for internal systems integration projects such as the cloud based services, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), virtualized infrastructure, server and storage environment.
  • Assists customer with establishing an Internet Protocol (IP) address management plan for the entire network including internal and external network segments and all device categories (for example servers, network devices, endpoint devices etc)
  • Performs configuration of firewalls using IP version 4 (IPv4) and IP version 6 (IPv6) networking protocols as necessary
  • Configures all aspects including high availability, zones, rules, and add-on technologies such as WildFire and Threat Protection
  • Documents final enterprise architecture, network diagrams, security best practices.
  • Experience with change management processes and implementation.
  • The candidate must have the knowledge how to set up the subscriptions for new systems with the vendor
  • This candidate must be able to work in a multi-functional, fast paced, high intensity team environment, work closely with other contractors/vendors as well as our customer directly, provide ad hoc advice/presentation support/attend meetings as needed with little or no notice, wear many hats

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates efforts onsite with and reports results and status to the Director of IT.
  • Provides Architecture, Design, Implementation and Administration for all Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) Palo Alto Firewalls and Palo Alto Networks' Panorama network security management appliance/tool all external connections (VPNs), all routing and switching environment, the Next Generation Firewall, the Remote access solution, and Security Information Event Management.
  • Provides engineering and design support for the Next Generation Firewall, the Remote access solution, and Security Information Event Management, as well as Operations and Maintenance for all Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) components, all external connections (VPNs), all routing and switching environment,.
  • Provides Network and Security engineering support for internal systems integration projects such as the cloud based services, VOIP, virtualized infrastructure, server and storage environment
  • Documents security operations, network diagrams, security best practices.
  • Mentors and trains more junior network employee(s)
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate subject matter expertise and provide leadership in the areas of Firewall design, configuration, administration. Hands-on experience with, and product-specific knowledge of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls is considered a plus.
  • This candidate must be able to work in a multi-functional, fast paced, high intensity team environment, work closely with other contractors/vendors as well as our customer directly, provide ad hoc advice/presentation support/attend meetings as needed with little or no notice, wear many hats
  • At least 5 years performing a senior network engineering role, preferably at least 3 of which is in some leadership capacity.
  • Must possess an active Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance. Those with current Secret clearance must have the ability to upgrade to Top Secret within one year.
  • Must be able to document the architecture; VISIO is acceptable. Must be able to work with the team to design the network in collaboration with our customer
  • Must be available to work weekends and after hours when needed or be on call at certain times as needed
  • Must be able to communicate well, frequently and clearly with the customer and with other involved vendors and stakeholders in every step of the design, configuration, etc.
  • Must have leadership experience and ability to be the primary network POC for this effort and able to report progress weekly
  • Prior Federal contract experience is desired
  • Certifications and/or past training, particularly within the Palo Alto product suite are desired, but not mandatory
Additional Requirement:
U.S. Citizen is required for the position. At least an Active Secret clearance is required. Secret clearance must be upgraded to Top Secret within a year.
