Position Description:
Supervise employees engaged in assigned areas using standardized methods and procedures. Observes quality of employee performance, advising them of conditions that do not meet standards. Accepts responsibility for the maintenance of environmental standards. Stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day. In good physical health, free from any communicable diseases or lift related injuries. Supervised by Environmental Services Supervisor.

Functions in compliance with department facility, and regulatory agency safety policy and procedure by demonstrating efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions in order to facilitate smooth operations. Competency on Interdepartmental

Communications- Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to situations/issues that require communication or interaction with other departments or patients. Performs varied tasks in order to maintain an orderly, sanitary, and attractive environment of care within the facility.

Preventative Maintenance- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform maintenance tasks to ensure all carpet and hard flooring are maintained on a scheduled basis conforming to departmental standards.

Required Education and Experience:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED




Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates active listening techniques; gains support through effective relationships; treats others with dignity and respect; seeks feedback; establishes systems to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and service; creates and maintains reporting mechanisms.

language Skills: English is the primary language of the facility. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with patients, family, and staff members. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, patient or family, physicians and public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Also the ability to draw and interpret various graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in statistical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Continuing Education: Attends in-service and education programs; attends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure
