Project Manager, Marketing

The Project Manager, Marketing is responsible for leading core project management activities including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring & control and project closing across all projects under management. The Project Manager, Marketing will serve as the Marketing lead for cross-functional project teams and oversee successful execution of Marketing sub-project deliverables spanning UWW’s Creative Services, Segment Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications (Internal, External, Stakeholder, Network, PR) and Digital/Social Media. The Project Manager, Marketing will also lead independent projects on behalf of the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Management and the Chief Marketing Officer, on an as-needed basis.
The Project Manager, Marketing will report to the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Management and forge strong working relationships across the Marketing Group and with internal clients, to facilitate project delivery that is consistently on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at an exceptionally high level:
- Independently lead project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring & control and project closing across all projects under management.
- Ensure project delivery that is consistently on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
- Optimize, institutionalize and drive continuous improvement of an effective project management system- including cross-functional standard operating procedures - spanning all project phases, from project initiation through project closing.
- Ensure proactive and consistent communication across all project teams to maximize efficiencies and mitigate risk.
- Other duties as assigned, including communications support (e.g., technical assistance with presentations, executive communications, speeches, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree (Marketing discipline or business administration strongly preferred)
At least three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role; marketing project management experience strongly preferred.
Superb project management skills, with a proven track record of consistently leading projects that are delivered on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
Demonstrated relationship management expertise, preferably in a large decentralized, matrix organization required; private sector experience strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Expert-level proficiency in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint)
Proficiency in Smartsheet (or equivalent software application)
PMI certification (PMP® or CAPM®)
Ability to work autonomously with a minimal amount of supervision, and to excel in an entrepreneurial, self-starting and fast paced environment.
