The George Mason University Police Department invites applications for the position of Office Assistant, for the Key Control Office. Responsibilties: This is a part-time, front desk customer service position that will serve the Mason community seeking keys to university offices and or buildings. The incumbent will perform general administrative duties that include: answering phones, processing mail, data input, handling key records and maintaining service logs, managing the software database system and performing other tasks/projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Applicant will have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills: ability to work independently and as member of a team, ability to work under pressure and with deadlines. Must have the ability to handle confidential information and present a professional demeanor. Applicant must successfully pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications: Incumbent would have some previous office experience with strong computer skills. Vast experience with computer programs like Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.
