Position # 122279 The Universities at Shady Grove 

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for the facilitation of the Universities at Shady Grove’s (USG) and Montgomery County’s pathway partnerships with MCPS and MC and other primary local feeder institutions including, but are not limited to, USG’s Transfer Access Programs and MCPS/MC/USG’s Achieving Collegiate Excellence & Success (ACES) program.
Collaborate with Montgomery College and the Montgomery County Public School system to assist in coordination and facilitation of institutional transfer access programs that offer students a structured, guaranteed pathway for attaining a four-year baccalaureate degree. Duties include the following:

  • Work with institutional partners to connect USG to the Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) partnership program initiatives and work with ACES students and families.
  • Co-coordinate  and facilitate ACES events and activities at USG
  • Co-coordinate  and facilitate general and specificspecific USG recruitment and information sessions on and off USG campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.

Required Experiences

  • A Minimum of 1 · year of experience in a higher education setting and college-level recruitment preferred.



Successful candidates must display experience in the areas of academic advising, admissions, financial aid, registration, or other student services. Program coordination in a higher education setting preferred. Experience working with first-generation college students and diverse populations. Experience and expertise in the areas of recruitment, outreach, and public speaking a must. Fluency in Spanish preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess collaborative experience that allows them to bring together students, faculty, and administrators from many different campuses under one center. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to use computer systems from various institutions as needed to create, update, and maintain records and provide high-quality, efficient customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills a must. Excellent customer skills and the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment required. Professional demeanor also a must. Ongoing regional travel will be required.

Additional Information

This position is located in Rockville, MD.  

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $48,008 – $52,000. The University also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 22 Days Annual Leave; 15 Days Sick Leave; 3 Days Personal Leave; 14 or 15 Paid Holidays; Health, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage.
