About the Position: The Associate Director of Compliance and Operations in the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) is a full time administrative faculty position that oversees the delivery and accountability of Federal, State, and Institutional financial aid funds to undergraduate and graduate students. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure regulatory compliance with all Federal, State and Institutional student aid programs while providing maximum support to OSFA staff, university stakeholders and student financial aid applicants. Position duties and responsibilities will be performed in support of OSFAs vision, mission and values as well as institutional mission and goals. This is a senior level managerial position that supports the Director of Financial Aid.

Duties Include (but are not limited to): * Responsible for Developing and Maintaining the offices Financial Aid Policies and Procedures. * Monitors and oversees all federal verification processes which are updated annually in compliance with yearly verification updates. * Monitors and oversees all R2T4 (Return to Title IV) Aid processing. * Monitors communications from the U.S. Department of Education, SCHEV, the Financial Aid ListServe, IFAP, and NASFAA Responsible for Internal Training and Disseminating Financial Aid Policy Updates to Staff. * Primary contact for federal, state and internal auditors, and collects and prepares data for auditing testing. * Assists with analysis of data, annual reports. * Reviews all consumer information for proper compliance with federal and state laws. * Identifies potential areas if compliance vulnerability and risk and develops corrective action plans. * Oversees updates to Financial Aid Web Pages, financial aid emails and print communications. * Makes recommendations and implements changes to the services offered at the front desk as well as flow of communications and interaction between Client Services and Financial Aid Counselors. * Manages, evaluates and provides direction to the Financial Aid Counseling staff, Office Manager, Processing Assistants and Client Services staff. * Identifies issues such as EFC Mismatch, aggregate limits, over awards, student loan issues and disseminates information to counselors for corrective action. Required Qualifications: * Minimum five to eight years of full time experience in an Office of Financial Aid. * The Associate Director will have extensive knowledge and experience in Title IV financial aid processing and comprehensive knowledge of all rules and regulations governing federal Title IV aid programs. * Candidates must have a Masters Degree. * Must be proficient in use of data and analysis of data to monitor compliance issues. * Candidate must document ability to work in fast paced, high stress, heavy workload financial aid environment, with accurate results. * Candidate must be able to communicate clearly (both orally and in writing), and able to solve problems and issues with staff, families, and students in a calm and constructive manner. Preferred Qualifications: * The ideal candidate will present a proven track record showing increased responsibilities in the field of financial aid for eight or more years. * The ideal candidate will demonstrate supervisory experience in an Office of Financial Aid. * Experience with BANNER (mainframe system) will be a plus. * Experience in a large, public university. * Financial Aid Office will be a plus.
