The Biophysical Society, a 9,000 member professional association of research scientists, seeks a self-motivated, detail-oriented Meetings Associate.   Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Meetings & Exhibits in coordinating and implementing all aspects of the Annual Meeting (6,000 attendees last year) and smaller meetings/events throughout the year.  Duties will include logistical planning, reviewing contracts, onsite management, and maintenance and analysis of meeting data.

Candidates must have at least 1-3 years experience in meeting/event planning.  Bachelor’s degree required.  Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask and troubleshoot problems.  Strong organizational and time management skills necessary. The ability to build relationships with internal associates and Biophysical Society members, as well as external meetings industry professionals is a must.  Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and have experience working with databases.  Ability to travel up to 3 times a year also required.
