Interactive Design Manager
The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is seeking to hire an interactive design manager to join its growing Digital Strategy team. AEI is a private, nonpartisan, not-for profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of foreign policy, economics, and social welfare.
The interactive design manager will be a creative, self-driven individual who can transform AEI’s innovative research from academic papers into interactive, visual products. In transforming our scholars’ research, the ideal candidate will thoroughly understand the creative process and have a strategic vision for reaching and capturing the attention of new audiences through our digital platforms. The position will supplement AEI policy reports with infographics, creative long-form layouts, data visualizations, microsites, responsive tables, and much more. The position will also work to create a strong, consistent visual aesthetic across all AEI web images and properties.
The position reports to the director of Digital Strategy and will collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to develop and fill the organization's editorial calendar. In addition to the core creative responsibilities, the position will support Digital Strategy’s overall mission of populating the AEI digital ecosystem with timely, relevant content.
- 3+ years of experience in digital design
- Comfortable with HTML/CSS (Java experience a plus)
- Expertise with Photoshop and Illustrator
- Familiarity with digital advertising
- Strong writing and project management skills
- Enjoys scholastic endeavors and has a passion for public policy
- An understanding of data visualization concepts
