Under the direction and supervision of the CD Program Manager the chemical dependency counselor at Adventist Health and Wellness Services (ABHWS) is responsible for providing quality therapeutic services to patient's served to include education, counseling, and support to families and patients. The patient to counselor ratio will not exceed 15 patients to one FTE counselor. Counselors should ensure the patient's needs are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies, procedures, and adhere to current federal and state regulations.

Primary Direct Service Responsibilities:
•\tPrepare assessments and individualized treatment plans in accordance with State regulations.
•\tProvide case management services including linkage to referrals as needed.
•\tProvide alcohol and drug education to patients and families in Adult/Adolescent IOP.
•\tConduct weekly psychoeducational groups for patients.
•\tSubmit patient's statistics for Adult/Adolescent IOP to the CD Manager
•\tCollect random drug urinalyses weekly and daily breathalyzer in Adult/Adolescent IOP
•\tProvide support and educational groups for parents on as needed basis.
•\tCollaborate with paraprofessionals involved in the patient's case.
•\tProvide crisis intervention counseling as needed
•\tAdvocate for patients with other service agencies as needed.
•\tConduct peer reviews for patients as needed
•\tRecord documentation accurately in the electronic medical record.
•\tProvide ABHWS information (policies) to patients, parents, and/or guardians and ensure the responsible adult/patient understands and signs necessary form.
•\tMaintain clinical skills through training opportunities and professional in-services as the budget allows.
•\tOther duties as assigned by CD Manager

Qualifications:

Maryland (MD) State Licensure (LCPC) with Professional Liability Insurance and/or Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists

PRN-Weekends required
