Research Analyst, Center on Housing Markets and Finance
The Center on Housing Markets and Finance at the American Enterprise Institute (www.housingrisk.org) conducts cutting-edge research and publishes an unprecedented set of risk metrics to improve the operation of housing markets, mortgage lending practices, and housing policy. We are seeking a research analyst to work directly with the center’s two codirectors and other team members on the full range of the center’s initiatives.
The primary responsibilities for this position include assembling and validating new data sets; cleaning, recoding, imputing, and weighting data to produce new indicators for housing markets; managing the center’s extensive data resources; and conducting economic analysis. The research analyst may have an opportunity to coauthor papers with the center’s codirectors, other analysts, and visiting scholars for publication in academic journals.
Candidates for the position should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A master’s degree in economics, finance, real estate, or data science or previous work experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess strong quantitative, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential. Relevant job or research experience is desired but not required. This is a full-time appointment with competitive compensation.
