The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Senior Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, assuring compliance with Sentara IT PM Methodology. They are responsible for the development of project plans, tracking status of projects, adherence to schedule and budget, setting priorities and assigning action items for on-going large scale projects. The Senior Project Manager will foster collaboration between departments to optimize system implementation and improvements. Finally, the Senior Project Manager will support and refine standard project management and portfolio management methodologies as set forth by the Sentara IT Program Management Office. Principle Duties: Utilizes Sentara IT PMM to lead and direct large projects to completion. Identifies, develops, and initiates innovations and solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist. Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes. Analyzes decisions and actions for their support of the larger area's strategic direction. Works with senior management to resolve more complex problems.

Implement and manage change control process for clinical and laboratory systems. Schedule meetings and draft documents supporting the process (procedures). Participate in the development and maintenance of an electronic system that will support the change control process.
