Minimum Qualifications:
A Law Degree and an active membership in the District of Columbia Unified Bar is required. Must have at least three (3) years of post-law school legal experience.
The incumbent must be familiar with the District of Columbia Code, the rules of the D.C. Courts, and federal legislation, regulations and policies affecting the D.C. Courts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Litigation and Employment law experience is preferred.
A working knowledge of the particular methods of Superior Court practice within the various divisions of the Court is preferred.
Career Ladder Position: Promotion Eligibility – One year waiting period from JS-13 to JS-14 and two year waiting period from JS-14 to JS-15 Associate General Counsel.
The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the D.C. Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.

Foreign Education: Education completed outside the United States must have been evaluated by a private U.S. organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials, commonly called a credential evaluation service or education to meet the above requirements.
