  • Requires work inside and outside, in all kinds of weather. Work is in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty and greasy. Work can be performed 30 feet above the floor, or more. Work can be in confined spaces. Work carries risk of electrical shock and burns, and entanglement in moving machinery parts. Work is near hazardous materials and chemicals.  Must be able to lift own weight. Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds. Noise levels may require wearing of earplugs. Work may require donning of protective equipment. Exposure to repeated, prolonged or concentrated amounts of refrigerant gases may have toxic effects on eyes, skin, and internal organs. Must be able to observe or hear warning signals. Must possess a universal EPA-approved CFC refrigerant certificate.

    A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:  processing payroll, records management, having the skills for clerical assignments providing customer service to supervisors, employees or external individuals. Skill in using advanced computer word processing, database programs, and other computer software is also required.

    1. Knowledge of practices, procedures, methods, codes and instructions used to process T&A documents and administrative reports.
    2. Ability to independently organize work and prioritize work while functioning under tight deadlines.
    3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with employees and supervisors at various levels.
    4. Knowledge of computer operation and skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel and other software, and the ability to learn other software packages.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Then, the HR Office and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) will conduct a quality review of your application and supporting documentation to determine if your qualifications meet the criteria for referral to the selecting official.
