With the guidance of the Education Manager, the ECE Coordinator is responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and professional learning at the Lourie Center Head Start programs related to the implementation of early childhood best practices that are aligned with the Reggio Emilia approach, ITERS/ECERS, the Classroom Assessment Scoring System and Head Start Performance Standards.
The ECE Coordinator is additionally responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Reggio Emilia approach and proven teacher- child interactions to drive learning and development.
This individual is skilled at working with administrators and specialist who support teachers and program staff, as well as, analysis of program quality and child outcomes.
The ECE Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the Early Learning Director at their assigned programs.

Work Schedule:

  • Develops a trusting, confidential, and reflective professional partnership with Early Learning directors, specialist and other school based staff;
  • Provides weekly on-site support to each Early Learning Director to ensure strong leadership support in the implementation of the Reggio Emilia approach, teacher-child interactions, compliance with Head Start requirements, and fidelity to the Tools of the Mind and Creative Curriculum which will include differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students, including students with disabilities.
  • Delivering high quality, job-embedded support through various approaches such as individual discussions (formal and informal), and formal professional development sessions;
  • Models research-based leadership approaches and collaborates with ECE specialist and coaches to meet the needs of individual learners;
  • Utilizing an assessment process to facilitate an Early Learning Director's and Specialist growth and development, analyzing their practice and reviewing work.
  • Providing feedback on program effectiveness and implementation of the Reggio Emilia approach Tools of the Mind and Creative Curriculum to Education Managers
