Material Management Specialist II
Serves as team lead. Provides direct logistical support in handling shipping and receiving goods and materials. Collaborates with team members in keeping accurate and detailed information of warehouse inventory, coordinating daily deliveries and pickups. Participates in refining warehouse work and safety procedures and offers reasonable solutions to meeting workload challenges. Uses highly effective computer and communications skills to keep team members and division members apprised of work environment matters. Applies knowledge of inventory systems in completing inventory assignments. Uses sound scheduling and organizational skills to meet assigned team performance goals. Independently solves field-level problems with internal and external customers. Operates material handling equipment. Ensures material handling equipment is safe and schedules regular maintenance. Promotes safe work practices and worker conduct. Drives 22-box truck daily and performs deliveries and pickups. Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.Employment Standards
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education; and three years of experience procuring or issuing and receiving equipment or performing accounts payable functions.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Must be able to obtain Forklift Safety Training Certificate within six months of hire date.
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and pre-employment physical to the satisfaction of the employer.
Knowledge of and experience with logistics and warehouse practices, procedures and safety standards. Experience with inventory control applications and safeguards. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel, with the ability to set up and maintain detailed receiving and location records. Experience in a large-scale warehouse operation to include the operation of material handling equipment (MHE).
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as boxes of paper, furniture, etc. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
