This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as experience in compliance/deterrence research; designing and preparing research plans to conduct new compliance/deterrence experiments and analyze and interpret the results.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
- Ability to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of administrative programs or operations on a quantitative and qualitative basis.
- Skill in applying social science, behavioral science, or related field to increase integration of social science in an enforcement and compliance assurance program.
- Ability to independently design, conduct, analyze, and interpret results of surveys and research on the effectiveness of compliance assurance and enforcement tools.
- Knowledge of program objectives and goals to determine which measurement techniques and tools would be most useful to the program.
- Perform studies on a variety of program and management strategies to ensure program objectives are met.
- Ability to communicate in writing.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Position has portable work and selectee may be authorized to telework after meeting eligibility requirements if approved by the supervisor/manager.
