HR Generalist/Business Partner
Reporting to the General Manager, with a dotted line to the US Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner is responsible for the coordination and management of all Human Resources Processes, programs and related activities for the Landover facility. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates human resources programs effectively with supervisors, managers & directors though meetings, training sessions and posted bulletins. Provides support for orientation of new employees. Providing and coordinating administrative support recruitment and selection process including maintaining current job descriptions, postings, pre-screening, testing, interviewing, reference checking, offer preparation and new employee sign up to payroll and benefits Sources, coordinates, tracks and administer employee training. Administers annual performance evaluation process to ensure Monitors Company compliance with all employment related and other laws including (EEO, Affirmative Action, FMLA, ADA, as well as requirements related to a government contractor). Tracks, monitors and makes recommendations for the improvement of labour scheduling to optimize cross training and skills development. Coordinates/administers Safety Training, Safety Metrics as well as Workers Compensation Modified Duty / Return to Work programs. Administers short & long-term disability programs in compliance with FMLA and ADA legislation. The successful candidate should have experience, ability & skill be able to: Provides ideas and suggestions to improve processes to enable growth and efficiencies. Maintains accurate, organized Information Filing/Database system. Supports and coordinates special projects as required. Ensures task completion to deadlines and established expectations. Manages multiple projects and prioritizes them in order to meet required deadlines. Solves problems within the department in support of the achievement of training goals. Works collaboratively with management to develop HR initiatives in the best interests of the Customer, the Team and the Company. Availability to attend meetings involving employees working shifts. EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 2-3 years work experience in HR Generalist and/or Business Partner role. Working towards or completion of HR designation. Some post-secondary education or professional development courses. Able to handle complaints effectively, diffuse conflict and resolve problems. Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills. Strong, flexible, hands on and results oriented team-based approach. Able to make and sustain excellent interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization and across cultural and ethnic diversity Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills Administrative skills such as form designing, file management and record keeping required. Ability to use standard office equipment efficiently. Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. Computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Office, HRIS systems and e-mail required.(DayForce/Ceridian preferred) Excellent time and project management skills. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills, including tact, discretion and sound judgement.
