Early Childhood Education Specialist

With the guidance of the ECE Coordinator is responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and professional learning at Lourie Center Head Start programs related to the implementation of screenings, curriculum and ongoing assessment that are aligned with Maryland Health Beginning and Early Learning Standards, the Head Start Early Learning Framework and Head Start Performance Standards. The ECE Specialist is additionally responsible for ensuring fidelity to the Creative Curriculum and Tools of the Mind curricula and Teaching Strategies GOLD in the Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classrooms. This individual is skilled at working with teachers and administrators to support fidelity.
Delivers high quality, job-embedded support through formal professional development sessions
Conducts informal and formal observations, including through the use of standardized curriculum and ongoing assessment fidelity quality tools in order to provide feedback to ECE Coordinator, Early Learning Directors, and coaches on curriculum and ongoing assessment delivery and implementation
Utilizes an ongoing quality assessment process to understand teachers and program growth and development in implementation of home visits, family conferences, curriculum and assessment.
Coordinates the provision of new hire training to support curriculum implementation.
Provides support to Education Manager on all policies and procedures on curriculum, ongoing assessment, screenings, family conferences, and home visits that enable the program to run smoothly, effectively, and ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC Accreditation standards, in conjunction with the Early Learning
6 May be required to provide coverage for and Early Learning Center Director and other duties as necessary.
