Lourie Center - Early Head Start Program

With the guidance of the Early Childhood Specialist and direction from the Head Start Performance Standards will provide instructional leadership and direction for the early learning program. He/she will set and oversee the direction of the program and ensure that all infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families receive high quality, comprehensive services that meet their needs. The Director will support teaching staff in co-constructing, researching, documenting, planning, organizing, implementing and advocating for children 6 weeks- 5 years old in a culturally responsive environment that is relationship based and rich in materials and possibilities.
Work Schedule:

1. Engage in a system of relational, reciprocal, regular data feedback and data utilization for continuous program improvement, to guide curriculum, and group plan decisions that impact children's and an individual child's school readiness.
2. Provide community of practices, reflective supervision, training and coach teachers in furthering their practice and implementing a curriculum that focuses on integration of Teaching Strategies GOLD which is aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and Maryland Early Learning Standards.
3. Support and ensure a continuity of care and primary care giving model to help children develop secure relationships.
4. Prioritize the health/safety and social/emotional well-being for children in the program and to promote a culture of excellence and family.
