Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer for our Elkton, Maryland office.The Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems Missile Defense and Controls (MD&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton MD&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.Job SummaryUnder broad direction, develop system testing scope, plan and estimates in collaboration with QA. Evaluate and recommend changes and/or tools to improve processes.Job Responsibilities* Works with cross functional, multi‐discipline test teams. Interfaces with technicians, customers, vendors and management teams to resolve problems.* Experience with programming in .net environment.* Experience with dynamic (vibration/shock) testing desired.* Defines testing requirements, develops Test Plans and writes Test Procedures.* Executes tests, manages and prioritizes problems/failures.* Reviews and evaluates test results and provides summary reports.* Works directly with energetic test arrangements in the field and provides onsite electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting support.* Perform Integrated Product Team (IPT) Test membership role.* Provides expertise and field support in the setup and execution of instrumentation and data collection systems employed in rocket motor testing.* Knowledge of network setup and administration desired.Education and ExperienceRequires BS in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering & 4 years or Masters in Engineering & 2 years.Experience in testing rocket motors and/or jet engines is desired.Other RequirementsA high degree of computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Matlab applications, test and drawing programs, and statistics is necessary.
