Solvay is a multi-specialty chemical company committed to developing chemistry that addresses key societal challenges. We innovate and partner with customers in diverse global end markets. Solvay Composite Materials combines 50 years of technology heritage to bring a comprehensive product portfolio, expertise in material design, and extensive process engineering solutions to our customers. As the partner of choice for advanced materials development, we deliver optimal material solutions to address our customers' most challenging demands for new high-performance materials to improve durability and production, while offering weight savings for the end application.Site Process Engineers are responsible to lead problem solving teams and implementation of manufacturing processes and machine solutions, project definition, project management as required, and project execution either as team leader or team member to support the work cell. Day To Day Operations Supervise and manage outside contractors as necessary to complete project work. Lead investigations into repeat out of control events using 6 sigma tools Identify and develop projects associated with safety, quality and delivery improvements Support Tech service in Qualification of targeted process or product changes Understanding of key process parameters and their interrelationships with other parameters and product characteristics along with six sigma tools to: Make minor revisions in parameters (except for major new products and resites which is a GEO process engineering responsibility) of current products under MOC. Prove out efficacy of process parameters through DOE's and control using SPC techniques Execute troubleshooting and correction of out of control process conditions to the point of mistake proofing. Provide process inputs to all site related CAPEX projects involving equipment and process modifications for continuous improvement and support of new product introduction. Mentor Production Engineers executing approved experiments. Provide technical support collaborating with Quality Engineers, Production Engineers and work cell team to respond to all customer issues, quality escapes and other systemic quality issues. May assist production engineers in the resolution of standard process problems Provide the functional specification for the development of SOP's, MSOP's, and test methods. Develop process functional specifications detailing the process parameters needed to achieve quality product characteristics at each functional step of the process. Completion of action items as assigned from safety audits, observations, or other investigations. Training Six Sigma Black Belt training with an objective to become certified Significant Lean manufacturing training Project management Capital process Performance Assist the manufacturing and plant management with work prioritization through recommendations of process improvement needs. Problem solve utilizing statistical and analytical methods to help the manufacturing team with process optimization, improving capability and upgrades as needed to support new and existing products. Manage budgets and projects to completion with in time parameters. Improvement Support process improvement objectives where six sigma experimentation is required.
