#cb About the opportunity: Company is looking for a Chief Education Officer (CEdO) to lead the organization's efforts in the creation of educational content and resources provided to its participants. The CEdO will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and will plan, direct, and evaluate Company's initiatives in professional development, academic competitive events, and student educational content at the high school and collegiate level. The CEdO will be responsible for utilizing research and data-driven methods in the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational offerings, including but not limited to in-person conferences, synchronous/asynchronous e-learning, and written resources. In addition, the CEdO will represent Company with external entities to help accomplish the mission of the organization. This is a new position, created by the recently appointed Executive Director, designed to provide the opportunity for a talented leader in the educational space to help define success for this position and develop strategies to achieve that success. Job responsibilities: Lead a staff team of 4 FTEs accountable for overall planning, implementation, and effectiveness of professional development and educational strategies and initiatives, which currently includes five conferences that include professional development activitiesLiaise and collaborate with volunteer task forces and committees assigned to evaluate and improve existing programsOversee and direct all activities related to planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of academic competitive eventsCollaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to promote professional development activitiesEstablish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistencyEnsure ongoing compliance and maintenance of Company Policies and Procedures and other external requirements and guidelinesEstablish, direct, and maintain a learning management system that ensures effective learning outcomesEnsure that Company maintains its status with national certification/credentialing organizations and identify new certification opportunitiesIdentify changes in the learning and professional development environments and evaluate and adjust the departmental plans and processes accordinglyDevelop and oversee the learning section of the websiteFoster a culture and framework of innovation and excellenceDevelop, implement, and evaluate the departmental budgetCollaborate with senior staff on various strategic initiativesIdentify and implement new technologies and methodologiesDesired skills: At least 10 years progressive experience in education, professional development, and e-learningAt least 5 years of experience in a strategic leadership roleData driven, systems thinker who can generate and execute ideas at strategic and tactical levelsThrives in a fast-paced environment, integrating disparate activities, new technologies, and agendas while adhering to deadlines and budgetsInstinctive collaborator with strong staff management experience who values teamwork and the input of othersCreative visionary with a passion for learning and professional development and the ability to clearly articulate ideas and conceptsExperience with accreditation and certification organization criteria, policies, standards, and processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand the big pictureExperience working with and providing strategic direction to volunteersExcellent written communication skillsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in other related technologiesAbility to effectively create and manage a department budgetAbility to travel as neededStrong interpersonal skills; ability to interact easily with wide variety of people
