The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Rockville, Maryland based firm has a short term temporary-to-fulltime position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded. What you get to do every single day - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision - Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process - Be a part of various department-wide initiatives - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested - Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Great attention to detail - Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Solid understanding of JD Edwards - Expertise in month end closings - Deep understanding of financial reporting - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Ability to meet deadlines - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems - Proficient in ERP systems - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity IF INTERESTED, SUBMIT RESUME TO [Click Here to Email Your Resume]Accountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
