Our client is currently seeking a Software Engineer ACU (Antenna Control Unit) The candidate will help customers' software developers to implement industry standard application programming interfaces (API) like OpenAMIP and OpenBMIP. Will participate in the specification, design, development, test, and support of features for a satellite telecommunications system from concept through completion. Job Duties: Teach ACU software developers how to implement the industry standard OpenAMIP API to integrate with VSAT modems with third party mobile VSAT antennas. Teach software developers how to implement the industry standard OpenBMIP API to integrate with VSAT modems with third party block upconverters (BUC). Create software that simulates a VSAT modem (and the VSAT system behind that modem) to an ACU. Create software that simulates an ACU to a VSAT modem (and the VSAT system behind that modem). Analyze customer requirements and RFC's to come up with efficient software designs. Job requirements: At least 5 years of industry experience in programming and software engineering, including at least 3 years of experience writing antenna control unit software. Must have software simulation and integration experience. Experience writing device drivers for real time operating systems (RTOS) and POSIX operating systems like Linux or BSD. Expertise in mobile VSAT antennas, preferably aero antennas. Detailed knowledge of antenna control unit (ACU) software. Detailed knowledge of object-oriented design and programming, including mastery of C++ and proficiency in C. Experience in many other modern programming language such as C# or Java. Must be able to learn new programming languages quickly! Strong knowledge of IP Networking: L2/L3 switching/routing, and related technologies Experience in TCP/IP socket programming. Experience with networking protocol stacks, especially the TCP/IP protocol suite, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, VLAN, IPSec, and Multicast. Experience with software configuration management tools like GIT or SVN. Experience solving real-time embedded issues like threading, optimization, memory management, interrupt handling, etc. in multi-core/multi-CPU environments. Experience with shell scripting. .Knowledge of GNU development and debugging tools. Knowledge of microprocessor architecture
