Based in Washington, DC, the Chief Program Officer (CPO) will report to the Chief Executive Officer (Bradley Myles) and be an integral member of the leadership team implementing Polaris' vision for change. Specifically, the Chief Program Officer will: manage and coordinate a portfolio of inter-related multidisciplinary programs and the efforts of a talented team as they advance Polaris' Data-Strategy-Action theory of change and Systemic Change Matrix model; drive on-going analysis of trends in the rapidly evolving field of trafficking; and ensure Polaris is well-positioned to navigate and optimize strategic opportunities. Detailed responsibilities include: * Participate, with executive team colleagues (CEO, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Communications Officer and Chief Development Officer) in developing and implementing Polaris' overarching organization strategy; * Strategically lead, and partner with, program leaders to operationally manage a portfolio currently comprised of the Data Analysis, Disruption Strategies, Policy Advocacy, Mexico, and Survivor Engagement programs. * Mentor, manage and retain a team of five program leaders who collectively oversee a team of 25; ensure roles, responsibilities and professional development opportunities align to Polaris' strategy as well as individual team member career growth and fulfillment; * Drive coordination and clarity across program initiatives, with clear timeframes and deliverables; * Support the program leaders in their program measurement frameworks; ensure cohesion of goals, and progress against ambitious goals, across all five areas; * Promote a highly engaged organizational culture of excellence and continuous improvement that values learning and innovation, agility and entrepreneurship, an unwavering commitment to quality, organizational cohesion, inclusion, equity, and professional growth; * Identify and address bottlenecks to program delivery; * Foster an environment that authentically brings Polaris' core organizational values into every aspect of our work, behavior, and decision-making; * Represent the organization externally, including in the media; * With the Chief Development Officer, support the creation and delivery of consulting services that empower corporate partners to disrupt and prevent trafficking; and * Liaise with the Chief Operating Officer and Director of the National Human Trafficking Hotline, ensuring coordination on cross-team work.Polaris is seeking a seasoned social sector leader with experience in program design and innovation. The Chief Program Officer will bring a track record of identifying opportunities as well as translating data and trends into actionable approaches that drive systems-level outcomes in program and/or advocacy campaigns that engage external partners. The Chief Program Officer will ideally bring an orientation toward public-private partnerships and fee-for-service project development., * Management and Team Development: Has inspired a diverse team; can set clear priorities in a dynamic environment; seeks out and elevates team member ideas and innovative approaches; and creates development opportunities for professional growth., * Communications: Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; effectively interfaces at all levels within and outside of Polaris; adapts to multiple audiences and industries. * Personal characteristics: Self-aware, collaborative, well-grounded/unflappable, energetic, flexible, positive, resilient, and proactive; must bring a passion for Polaris' mission and exemplify organizational values. * BS/BA degree required; graduate degree preferred.
