The Test Technician is responsible for conducting tests, data collection, and component-level troubleshooting on low voltage system products, both electronic and electromechanical. The position performs a wide variety of complex assignments including the test, troubleshooting, modification and repair of Solid State (electronic) and Rotary (motor-generator set) Frequency Converters. The position works under the direction of the Plant Manager. Specific Responsibilities (what we need you to bring to the manufacturing team!) * Performs a variety of complex functional and operational tests on Permanent Magnet converters, subsystems and assemblies in accordance with established procedures and data sheets. * Independently reads and understands prints and wiring diagrams * Troubleshoots, debugs, tests and performs precision measurements on a variety of electronic assemblies, systems and instruments, effectively utilizing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, watt meters, and phase measuring equipment. * Diagnoses test failures and perform necessary rework in order that units will pass test requirements. * Sets up and operates a wide variety of testing equipment, improvising hook-up and equipment modifications as necessary to test circuitry, components, systems or subsystems. * Works from schematics, diagrams, sketches and oral instructions to meet engineering requirements. * Preferred experience with NFPA70E safety practices * Performs wiring assembly activities on the Company's rotary products * Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Skills Preferred (skills that will get our attention!) * Experience testing and debugging electronic UPS-type systems. * Expertise manually operating a variety of standard electronics test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes) Education and Experience Required * Must have High School Diploma or equivalent * Associate degree in electrical or mechanical preferred * A minimum of two years of related work experience of testing and troubleshooting is required. * Demonstrated ability to successfully work both independently and in a diverse team environment is required. * US Citizen or Permanent Residency status is required
