Under the supervision of the classroom teacher and with oversight by the Director helps the assigned child to decrease and eventually avoid behaviors which may result in self-injury or injury to others and/or the environment, and also helps the child to increase his/her availability for learning in both one-to-one and group instruction.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Certification: The position of Classroom Aide requires a minimum of bachelor's degree in education, child development, psychology or other related discipline. Basic knowledge of child development issues is required.

Experience: Minimum of one year work experience with special needs children is required (i.e., camp counselor, child care work, college practicum experiences)
.
Skills and Abilities: The Classroom Aide must have the ability to relate positively and sensitively to LCS children. Must be able to interact positively with other team members.
Work Schedule:


Day shift, full time, Monday - Friday
