The George Mason University Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy (CEBCP), housed within the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, invites applications for an open Office Manager position within the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (W/BHIDTA) program. The CEBCP, founded in 2008, seeks to make scientific research a key component in decisions about crime and justice policies. The CEBCP carries out this mission by advancing rigorous studies in criminal justice and criminology through research-practice collaborations, and proactively serving as an informational and translational link to practitioners and the policy community.

The HIDTA Program is a federal grant program administered by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to provide resources that assist federal, state, local and tribal agencies to coordinate activities that address drug trafficking in specifically designated areas of the United States. Information and intelligence sharing are keys to successful investigations, drug treatment and prevention programs, and drug policy development.

The Office Manager will be responsible for organizing and coordinating administrative duties and office procedures at the Elkridge, MD location for the W/B HIDTA. The role of the Office Manager is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety. The individual will perform skilled clerical work, and provide general administrative support to the law enforcement initiative supervisors. The individual will be responsible for assisting with maintaining financial and investigative records and facilitating communication among initiatives.

Responsibilities: * Office Management: oversee Group Supervisors schedules, coordinate appointments and schedules, organizing and managing various databases, provide general supports for all visitors, organize office operations and procedures * Administrative/Operations Supports: track task force office vehicle and overtime, ensure timekeeping records for all task force officers assigned to groups, oversee day to day operations of initiatives, coordinate travel and reimbursement arrangements Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent GED, or a combination of education and experience * Significant demonstrated experience with Law Enforcement Administration * Significant demonstrated experience with Office Administration * The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in accomplishing a variety of tasks under deadlines; commendable customer service and computer skills; extensive experience in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); commendable organizational and correspondence skills; and the ability to be a team player. * Must be able to pass National Security background check, pass a drug statement and obtain a Secret Level security clearance
