Customer Service Representative

The George Mason University, Student Accounts Office invites qualified applicants to apply for the Customer Service Representative position. The Customer Service Representative will provide excellent customer service; answering phone inquiries, assisting with walk-ins and emails; processing of various documents to include schedule adjustments, withdrawal requests, and stop-payment requests; distributing departmental mail; processing incoming check payments through the Cashier’s Office; and processing credit card refunds through our third party vendor. Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult customer interactions;
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, account analysis and reconciliation;
  • Demonstrated successful job experience requiring attention to detail and hands-on workload;
  • Well organized individual with strong interpersonal/communication skills;
  • Associate’s degree in business, accounting or equivalent life experience; and
  • Knowledge of student privacy laws. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Banner Student System is preferred.
