Human Resources Generalist Job Tracking ID: 512778-643116 Job Location: Rocvkille, MD Job Level: Mid Career (2+ years) Level of Education: BA/BS Job Type: Full-Time/Regular Date Updated: August 03, 2018 Years of Experience: Up to 2 Years Starting Date: August 13, 2018 Under the direction of the HR Director, the Human Resources Generalist provides operational support to help manage the day-to-day operations within the Human Resources Department. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), training and development, recruiting, benefits and compensation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts data analysis and HR metrics reporting to support data driven decision making. Oversees the agency's Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure compliance with employee training requirements. Responsible for analyzing recruiting objectives to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Assists the Recruiter by helping to provide on-going communication to hiring managers and management regarding the status of open positions. Develops and oversees the agency's Wellness Program. Collaborates with the HR Coordinator regarding on-boarding, training, compliance, safety, morale programs, and general Human Resource matters. Provides HRIS training and support to employees in conjunction with the HR Coordinator. Prepares and distributes routine announcements and updates regarding employee benefits and resources to keep employees informed and engaged. Provides back up support with payroll processing and talent acquisition. Oversees the agency's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in order to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce. Experience and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or relevant field. Minimum of 1-2 years of Human Resources experience. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. The employee portion may be 25% or 50% depending on the plan selected. Cornerstone Montgomery, Inc. pays 100% of the premium for AD&D and Group Term life insurance. All deductions for benefits are made on a 'pre-tax' basis. This allows eligible employees to receive a tax break on their insurance premiums. Plan Effective Date - Coverage effective dates are: health/dental/vision/life/ insurance is the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. The FSA plan is also effective the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. Disability Benefits Long Term Disability (MetLife) provides income replacement benefits when you become disabled at 60% of your earnings. To be eligible you must be an active, regular employee, work at least 20 hours per week, and a citizen or legal resident of the US, its territories or Canada. Plan Effective Date - Coverage effective date is the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. Cost - Cornerstone Montgomery, Inc. pays 100% of the premium for LTD. Short Term Disability (Self-funded by the agency) - provides income replacement benefits at 50% of base salary when an illness, accident or serious health condition causes you to be absent from work 10 consecutive days to a maximum of 90 days. To be eligible you must be an active permanent employee, work at least 20 hours per week and employed with the agency for at least one year. Plan Effective Date - Coverage effective date is the 1st day of the month following 1 year of employment. Cost - Cornerstone Montgomery, Inc. pays 100% of the cost for STD. Retirement Benefits Tax Sheltered Annuity 403b (Lincoln National Life Insurance) - Employee Contributions may start immediately. The maximum contribution may be as much as federal regulations allow; contributions are made on a pre-tax basis. Employer Contributions - After 2 years of continuous service, Cornerstone Montgomery, Inc. automatically contributes a percentage of an eligible employee's earnings to the employees' retirement account. State employees credit union Employees can set up an automatic payroll deduction which deposits a portion (or all) of the payroll check into a credit union savings or checking account. Loans from the Credit Union can also be repaid through payroll deduction. The minimum deposit to join the credit union is $10.00.
