The employer is a leading communications, media and automotive services company.A' Identify policy issues of importance to company businessesDevelop company positions relative to these policies to advance company business goals.Assist in the development and implementation of an advocacy strategy plan to advance these policies.Assist in managing a team of outside lobbying consultants and direct their engagement before Congress.Assist in managing Director of Government Affairs to ensure the company has state of the art tools which support congressional advocacy.Provide guidance and direction for PAC management in determining how to allocate PAC resources.Attend political events.Primary lobbying responsibility for members of the House and Senate Commerce Committees.Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, Senators and staff.Support filing of regular lobbying and ethics disclosures.Provides strategic advice to company business leaders relative to Congress.Comply with all applicable Congressional ethics and lobbying rulesBachelors of Arts/Science4 years substantive experience as Congressional staff person7+ years experience as senior policy advisor for senior policy maker and/or advocate for a telecommunications/media company or trade association.Knowledge of broadband, telecommunications and/or media policy and law.Familiarity with broadband, telecommunications and/or media issues at the state and local level.In depth understanding of interplay between Congress and the FCC and other regulatory agencies.Understanding of the Federal legislative process.Understanding of the interplay of policy making and politicsExperience working on a small, diverse goal focused team.Understanding of Political Action Committees
