Our engineering team today is relentless, talented, and focused on producing the most innovative aerospace technologies possible - now we need a Vice President of Human Resources that is just as energetic as innovative. As Vice President of Human Resources, you will be integral to the execution of our ambitious goals. You will bring compelling, innovative ideas to create an organization that leverages our history and culture during a period of rapid expansion while allowing our existing talent to thrive. This position reports to the President and CEO and will include developing, implementing and managing talent acquisition, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, performance management, HR systems and analytics, employee relations, succession planning, compliance, and learning & development initiatives. This strategic HR leader will coach and develop, share market trends and forecasts, and serve as a thought leader as they partner with the senior management team in the execution of growth strategies. Specific Responsibilities: * Recruit, hire, develop, and cultivate a world-class organization: Own all aspects of recruiting, retention, engagement, compensation, performance management, and other key elements of building and maintaining a world-class team. * Interface with executive teams to develop strategies and drive results: Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop resourcing strategies supportive of Aurora's substantive growth goals over the next several years. * Lead an HR team: Mentor and develop a team of HR professionals in various areas of HR specialty; provide substantive technical advice and knowledge to support the development of team members. * Created tailored HR solutions for our unique business: Develop and administer human resource policies and procedures that make Aurora a great place to work; ensure adherence to federal and state laws and regulations, and Aurora's compliance requirements as a Not Fully Integrated Subsidiary of Boeing, while ensuring that Aurora retains its dynamic culture and agility. * Collaborate with Communications and Marketing: Collaborate with the Vice President of Communications and Marketing to advise on externally-facing messages that will help capture top talent. Leverage the skills and abilities of the communications and marketing team for employee engagement, alignment, and retention. * Lead with data: As Aurora grows, it's more important than ever to develop and track key performance metrics. Ensure the integrity of data used to lead the organization. Provide leadership and consulting support to the management team on matters of goal setting, policy development and strategic planning. * Interface with the team: Our managers are highly accomplished, driven engineers eager to engage with the Vice President of HR. Collaborate with managers within the organization to ensure effective recruiting and retention strategies, including those related to new business capture to support growth goals. * Retain and engage: Develop and manage a growth-focused total rewards program that attracts, retains and engages employees with a diverse set of skills and demographics. * Compliance: Oversee affirmative action programs including annual filings, data collection/record keeping, and preparation of plans in compliance with EEO/OFCCP regulations. * Other: Provide leadership in resolving grievances and workplace disputes.* Passionate about creating a workplace that retains and attracts highly talented individuals. * Knowledgeable of regulations, industry trends, best practices and applicable laws regarding human resources. * Adept at handling sensitive employee relations matters. * Confident and decisive, possessing a strategic focus as well as an operational and detail-oriented perspective. * Articulate, with strong communication skills; able to relate to people at all levels of the organization. * Skilled in analytical thinking and problem solving. * Able to multitask and execute effectively on a wide variety of tasks and initiatives simultaneously. * Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Desired skills and background: * Bachelor's Degree required; Human Resources or related field preferred; Master's preferred. * 15+ years of HR experience with demonstrated competence in several HR functional areas. * Proven experience successfully leading and directing a team of HR professionals. * Prior VP level experience with a company with annual revenues in excess of $350 million and more than 1,000 employees. * Prior experience leading an HR Organization through a multiyear period of rapid growth (ie 40%+ a year). * Experience designing and implementing annual and long-term incentive compensation programs. * Direct experience implementing and managing an enterprise Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
